I could tell you all of the basics about me. I am a creative through and through and have been since I was little. I am a mama of an amazing daughter who is smart, driven, kind and so darn clever. I love dogs, especially golden retrievers. My brain never stops and my feet rarely do either. I am constantly in motion. And all of that is relevant and important.
But what I really want to tell you is WHY I do this thing I do. I believe everyone deserves respect and kindness, and someone who can empower them to do the things they want to do. I am here to help you make the most of your limited knitting time. I create patterns that are wearable, useful and timeless. Knitting them will fit into the pockets of time you have. And because they are timeless, you will be able to wear them for years.

My mom, Catherine, was born and raised in County Galway, Ireland and bits of her former home were always smattered throughout my childhood. From homemade soda bread and imported Irish candy to Irish music playing on the radio.
Irish culture was a huge part of what made my brother's and my childhood special. As a small child, I learned that when you add -een to something it makes it small. So I was Erineen and my brother was Seaneen. It stuck as a nickname and an endearment from both my mom and dad.
So when it came time to name my company, I knew it needed to pay homage to my mom, who I lost 25 years ago to cancer. When I tell the story of her home through my designs then a little bit of being called Erineen will always stay with me. And I get to share it with all of you.

I feel like my previous experiences led me to design knitwear. I know that is a big statement, but keep reading and I think you'll agree! I have worked as a graphic designer for more years than I would like to admit. And one of my loves in that time was publications. I adore the intersection of words and pictures. And the why behind what makes it is easy to read. I also have been a photographer for many years, too. Photographing everything from weddings, corporate events, and headshots to senior photos, family portraits and landscape photography.
So when as a knitter, many of the patterns I knitted were hard to understand or not exactly what I wanted, I set out to create something clearer. That is how in 2018 Erineen Designs was born. I now use my previous skills to create clear to follow patterns that are meant to be worn not stored in a drawer, with you in mind.
